Talking About Myself; Something Writers Are Supposed to Be Good At

Hi,

I am JonJames. I found this site because AIM decided that Calista and I should meet by making us talk to each other even though neither of us started the conversation. I am studying Creative Writing, focusing on poetry and fiction, and my interests lately have been in experimental/ post-modern/ meta-fiction, and science fiction. I have also been playing RPGs, primarily D&D for almost a decade now so when I heard about this forum, it struck me as being right up my alley, as well as useful for getting into the minds of my D&D or fiction characters. My future aspirations are to write, for I see in writing the possibility for one career that can accommodate my constant fluctuation of interests, and a place where my near-insanity can be appreciated rather than feared. My current endeavor in fiction is a low-brow narrative in which one character is a self-proclaimed post-modernist/ traditionalist/ minimalist and the writer, and a second character is the narrator who frequently complains about his counterpart's pretension.

I might post it, but I would have to transcribe it... I can only typewrite or handwrite for this project. Something about using a computer makes my brain not work quite right for that particular project.

Haha makes sense. I have a habit of handwriting a lot of my stuff too, but people eventually force me to type it up. :]

I'm one of the peolpe who checks this site everyday, so you can normally expect an answer pretty quick from me. If Trilly isn't answering a question, I'll either a) answer for you if you want, or b) get Trilly to answer. Same for Calista, but only part a). I'm actually a big person on the site, but I know some stuff.

Ooh, a story! I understand the handwriting thing. I use the computer because my hand doesn't write fast enough.
