Music Of Yesteryear, Today, and The Future!
Just an idea, an open discussion, on what you think is hot, and what's not. Favorite songs, artists, etc. Any songs your just plain tired of hearing? Rant about it here! Any songs you believe are heavily underrated? Genres you love or can't stand? Anything music!
(note)This will be full of personal opinions, don't assume you are right and everyone should agree with you! Discuss, no flaming!
To start...I'm On A Boat : The Lonely Island. If I hear one mroe person Say "I'm On A Boat!" I may have to kill something, or at least break it >.>
One other addendum, This isn't like the Quotes Topic, Don't just list music, It is meant to be a discussion page. Please and thank you, again.

It is a good song, but i hear it too often . All their songs repeat the same thing, over...and over...and over...
Also, not your fault Angelic, I just wasn't thinking about the sheer volume that lyrics can take up

It's stuck in my head now. So repetative, especially since I don't know all the words.

Ilona is more of a children's band, but her lyrics just make me giggle.

I don't understand a word, I like the beat though, just a little slow for my taste.

My Chemical Romance is my favorite band, but they have made me angry. They had there own sound, I mean have you heard Gerard Way's voice? Every album had a story and a specific sound all there own. Their new stuff sounds too much like Creed. They're mimicking and that's sad bc they don't need to.

MCR used to be good, but I stopped listening a while ago. My personal favorite is Linkin Park, or rather, was, until Minutes to Midnight came out. The entire CD was unlike them and all emo T-T, albeit there WERE good songs, but the majority....

Sorry for the double, I have something I wanna say
I am revisiting my older library of tunes, and I found one of my all time favorites, Sk8r Boi, By Avril Lavigne. One of my personal favorites, however also one of her last good ones before she sold her soul to remain popular and on the mainstream

A lot of artists seem to be fading to mainstream nowadays. I happen to be a huge fan of Muse. They have amazing lyrics and lot of sound (like strings and piano) and it doesn't sound to busy or "recording studio." And they have all of that sound in concert. ^^

By emo wave, I mean, many bands have been switching from good lyrics to tend to the interests of the growing "emo" population

Yeah, you're kinda right. Listening to all the punk rock and stuff, all you hear is "emo emo, I am emo" and stuff lick that. But thank God there's still Weird Al Yankovic to destroy your songs and happify your day! Just don't watch "Weasel Stomping Day" on youtube. If you do and feel sick afterwards, then you'll end up exactly like me.

Yes, but the Emo Kid song is hilarious!
I'm an emo kid, non-conforming as can be, you'd be non-conforming too if you looked just like me!

Um... as far as I know I'm not emo. The song Addicted is amazing. Unless it is the acoustic version, then I have to turn it off in disgust. He sounds completely different! And not in a good way... T.T

Not the best in my taste, but he is awesome. I like a few of his songs, just not when they're played one after another with repeat on on a CD. Then his voice starts to iritate me.
But they need to stop changing these songs around, cause the originals sound way better. Like the acoustic version of Broken. Without Amy Lee, the song just doesn't sound right, and especially with out the electric behind them.

Has anyone ever heard the song Creep by Radiohead? They literally could only play it on the radio a limited time bc it was so depressing. Those lyrics are so emo! I found that interesting.

Same here. I listen to country as long as it doesn't slow down and have operatic singing in the background. There's this song that made no sense that came from Cold Mountain that was pretty good. Now what was it called...

By the way, if you're ever in Orlando, turn to station 105.1 FM. It's pretty good. But if you listen to it down here, it's all country. In Orlando it's all rock and stuff. And then there's 97.9 FM that calls itself 98. They have Disturbed, Linkin Park, Metallica, Serg Tankin(?), and more. (found this all out from sitting squished between Trill and my brother with nothing to do)
