My Before New Years Resolution

I have decided to have this written out somewhere so maybe it will make it harder to ignore it.

For years now I have been nothing but a doormat, punching dummy, and plain old garbage bag for the world and those who live in it. How's that for colorful metaphors? Now, I'm not blaming anybody for I am allowing this to happen myself because of this insane need I have to be accepted by everyone and everything.

This leads to the resolution part. I've got to stop bending over backwards to make everyone happy. It is plain not healthy. I've got to stop being the first to apologize for things especially when what I am apologizing for is not even my fault. And most importantly I have got to stop tearing myself up inside when someone is mad at me. It is human nature to get angry and I am going to have to learn to deal with that.

Now it is written and all of you are witness to it. Maybe with it being out here for others to read I may actually be able to follow this convinction for real this time becuase yes, I I have made it before. Now look where I am? So much for conviction.
